12 Farmhouse Wreaths for your Front Door

If you are craving some of that fixer upper style, these 12 farmhouse wreaths for your front door are the perfect solution! From magnolia wreaths to cotton stems and everything in between - choose a new modern farmhouse front door wreath from these fun options.

Remember when we painted the exterior for our first fixer-upper? The transformation, which you can see in the fixer-upper exterior photos, was so dramatic. You can read all about our DIY exterior painting experience here!

In the midst of adding a ton of curb appeal to your home through things like simple front yard landscaping, adding new porch planter boxes, or painting a fresh coat of front door paint, it is usually really obvious that you need a show-stopping wreath for the front door.

I love making wreaths (like this DIY farmhouse wreath and fun garden house wreath), but sometimes life is too crazy and you need to pull in the big guns…..Etsy. Today I’m featuring 12 gorgeous modern farmhouse wreaths for your front door.

What makes a wreath farmhouse style?

  • Natural materials: Often use burlap, cotton, wood, twine, or greenery (real or faux)
  • Clean and simple: Not overly ornate or too flashy
  • Rustic: Nothing too perfect
  • Neutral colors: Something that is key for farmhouse style is neutral colors, like white, gray, and even soft green

Here are some common types of farmhouse-style wreaths that you can use on your front door:

  • Boxwood: Made with real or artificial boxwood leaves. Have a very classic farmhouse feel and bring in bright green colors to an otherwise neutral color scheme.
  • Magnolia: Joanna, herself, made this type of farmhouse wreath really the quintessential “farmhouse” one.
  • Lavender: Uses dried lavender bundles and has a great smell! These ones are great if you want to add a little bit of color for spring or summer
  • Burlap: Has a rustic look. Can be wrapped with burlap fabric or ribbon. Can add flowers or other designs.
  • Cotton: Uses natural or faux cotton bolls with a cozy look. Great for winter or all year round. Very classic farmhouse look.
  • Wood: Maybe a grapevine wreath or a picture frame wreath or something with a wooden cut-out design
  • Eucalyptus: Usually made with real or dried eucalyptus and brings in a fresh look.

Should you switch up your front door wreath throughout the year?

Switching up your front door wreath throughout the year is a fun way to keep your home’s exterior fresh and in tune with the seasons.

Think of the big 4 seasons…spring, summer, fall, and winter/holidays.

  • In the spring, you could incorporate flowers into the wreath.
  • In the summer, add in brighter pops of color or even something patriotic for July.
  • In the fall, use pumpkins, fall colors, or a traditional fall wreath, like this.
  • In the winter, go with pinecones, holly, or something Christmasy. I also like to add vintage bells to the middle of my winter wreaths for an extra festive touch!
