But what makes
a house a home exactly?

We’re big believers in home being a feeling, not a place.

Renovating your home is so much more than updating your spaces to match the latest trends.

And decorating your home is so much more than buying pretty things and putting them on display.

Making your house a home you love is less about what it looks like and more about how it feels.

With every DIY project and every item purchased for your home, you are infusing more and more of what makes your house a home…you.

Our goal with every blog post, DIY project, and renovation is to teach and inspire you along the way as we fall a little more in love with our home (so you can do the same).

Our Story

We met in college in San Diego and stayed there after we graduated and got married. Chelsea originally started this blog during the newlywed bliss era as a fun way to share all about our DIY wedding and to simply document our lives, but it wasn’t a business at all.

As much as we loved San Diego, we were searching for a smaller town with a quieter life and needed an adventure. So in 2014, we packed up everything we owned and drove all the way up California to the beautiful Bend, Oregon. We literally traded palm trees for pine trees!

In 2015, we embarked on our next adventure – home ownership. We decided to buy a home and went looking for fixer-upper! We found just the perfect one to get us started. Our sweat equity paid off when we decided to sell the home in 2019. See all of the before and afters on our first first upper here!

In 2018, we moved on to our 2nd renovation – which is the house we’re currently living in. Check out that home tour here.

We have two kiddos who are usually running around getting into trouble while we DIY. And they love helping out and learning right alongside us!

In 2023, Chelsea stepped away from her full-time job and she’s now homeschooling the kiddos and working on our blog! Logan is currently working as a project manager with a custom home-building company in Central Oregon.

Two dogs, two kids, and two fixer-uppers later, what started as a wedding blog has slowly morphed into a DIY and renovation resource for hundreds of thousands of monthly readers. DIY has become a way of life around here and we love inspiring so many of you along the way!
