Modern Boho Office Reveal (Before & Afters)
Today is one of my favorite days on the blog! Today we’re revealing another finished space in our home and I’m giddy with excitement for you to see just HOW AMAZING this boho office turned out.
With all of this work from home and virtual school, there’s no better time to create a dedicated home office or homeschool room in your house – right?
I think you’re going to love this room with lots of boho decor, gorgeous functional furniture, and his and her office space with two desks (which could also work great if you have two kids needing virtual school space too!).
This post is sponsored by The Home Depot. All opinions are entirely my own. This post also contains affiliate links, but nothing that I wouldn’t recommend wholeheartedly. Read my full disclosure here.

Before Pictures
Ok, before we get started here…let’s just put out a disclaimer that you’ve never seen this room before….And that’s for a reason. It was a complete train wreck.
The room has no windows, which makes it difficult and kind of feels like a dungeon. Here’s what it looked like empty after moving in.
Once we got moved into this room, it definitely didn’t get any better.
Mismatched furniture.
No decor whatsoever.
Clutter everywhere.
No storage solutions.
And definitely not an inspiring place to spend so many hours working.
It was LONG overdue for a makeover, so when The Home Depot reached out and asked us to participate in a fun campaign with the gorgeous furniture & decor in the Home Decorators Collection, it seemed meant to be.
Boho Office Mood Board
I had way too much fun choosing furniture and decor from the Home Decorators Collection. There are SO many fun options! A lot of the pieces really fit together nicely, which allows you to mix and match to get the perfect combination for your room makeover.
After much debate, here’s the office design plan that we came up with for our office mood board.
SO fun, right?
My other really exciting plan for this room was a giant pegboard wall made from plywood. This is what I came up with for my general plan for that wall.
Ok ok… I know the suspense is killing you! You really just wanna see how the boho home office turned out, right? Well…without further ado…

What a transformation, right?!
Desk – Desk Chair – Round Rug
These beautiful desks have a touch of vintage charm that I love and SO much storage, which definitely comes in handy.
I just love that our office had room to create his and her office area with two desks because we really both need one.
Desk – Desk Chair – Round Rug – Wall Sconce Light – Area Rug – Plant with Wood Stand
I’m loving using the keyboard tray to keep my mouse and keyboard tucked away when I’m not working.
Tall Succulent Plant – Desktop Fan
Desks – Desk Chairs – Round Rugs – Area Rug – Metal & Glass Bookcase (gold version)- Fern in Concrete Bowl – Gray Storage Drawers – Wood and Iron Vase – Metal Lantern – Wall Sconce Lights – Plant with Wood Stand
We also appreciate how much larger the desk space is compared to our older desk. There’s plenty of room for a plate of lunch, a cup of coffee, a notepad, and a planner (I’ve tested that).
Linen Arm Chair (similar) – Throw Blanket – Macrame Floor Pouf – Arch Mirror – Palm Tree – Floor Lamp – Area Rug
I absolutely love how this little corner of our boho office turned out! This linen arm chair is SO cozy and I can definitely envision cuddling up on early mornings with a cup of coffee and doing some reading here.
Linen Arm Chair (similar) – Throw Blanket – Macrame Floor Pouf – Arch Mirror – Palm Tree – Floor Lamp – Area Rug
By pairing up this decor of the chair, modern farmhouse floor lamp, and shelf in the corner of the room, we’ve added so much function to an area that would normally just be empty.

You’ll probably notice there are a lot of plants throughout the room and also no windows. These are ALL faux plants from Home Depot.
They bring so much life to the space and help bring in some natural vibes that you miss without having that natural life from a window.
White Bookcase – Wood and Iron Vase – Metal Lantern – Faux Succulent in Terracotta Pot
This bookcase provides so much extra storage and the two drawers you see are both filing cabinets, which is definitely needed in the office, of course.
Desk – Desk Chair – Round Rug – Wall Sconce Light – Area Rug – Plant with Wood Stand
The giant pegboard that we added adds so much character to the room! You can check out the full tutorial for the pegboard here!

This room definitely doesn’t look like a cluttered dungeon anymore! It’s so inspiring, which is much needed because I spend so many hours in this room!

WOW!! Absolutely stunning! Thank you for sharing this beauty. It has given me some ideas as I am about to start renovating my office. Love the peg boards. Mine with be a combination office bedroom with a Murphy Bed. Once again outstanding job!!!
Thank you !! 🙂 Yes, a murphy bed is a great idea for an office!
This looks so good! Love all your choices. What did you do to the closet? Are those new doors?
Hi Lynda! Thanks….the closet doors were actually a DIY. We gave those old closet doors a makeover…! We will share more soon.
Can you share the paint color and brand please.

the peg board is so cute!!
Thanks, that is one of my favorite parts of the room! We’ll be sharing the full tutorial soon!
Wow wow wow! Gorgeous makeover, & something I can incorporate in to my own space. Questions: Where’s the printer? Modem? Router? They’re the big space hogs in my office. Hate having them so visible, but they’re very necessary components.
Hi Esther – thank you so much! The modem and router actually live in our bedroom. Our printer is wireless and lives in our hallway – we built this hallway storage cabinet for it a couple years ago and it works perfectly. https://www.makingmanzanita.com/hallway-cabinet/
maybe I missed it, but could you provide a link for the closet doors? Love them!
They were a DIY – I shared lots more about them here: https://www.makingmanzanita.com/sliding-closet-door-makeover-2/
Looks AMAZING! Thanks for sharing! Will definitely try the black tape trick.
I was just curious, is there not a way to put a window in this room? It is strange that a house was projected with a bedroom no less, without a window.
Nope, this room is in the middle of our house and does not have an exterior wall. It is “technically” not a bedroom because of that.
Wow. Looks amazing! I think that the pegboard is the highlight of this room❤️Love the idea
Thanks, we love the pegboard!
I love the color combinations in this room. What colors did you use??
Hi there, thanks! The dark color on the walls is Midnight in NY by Behr (learn more here: https://www.makingmanzanita.com/behr-midnight-in-ny/) and inside the arches is Crisp Linen by Behr (arch tutorial here: https://www.makingmanzanita.com/paint-an-arch/)
