When we moved, we had brought our large, french door fridge with us. Too big in our tiny kitchen so it was put in the hallway along with our washer and dryer. At first it seemed weird to go into hallway for milk, but it was better than giving up that great fridge! No fridge came with the tiny house, and the spot in the kitchen would make a good pantry place. Could not find storage options that matched our dimensions so we figured we would be building shelves. At Habitat for Humanity, I found a tall stereo cabinet/entertainment center that was 2 pieces. I was able to purchase one individually for my front room next to kitchen wall – used like a China cupboard. Beautiful dark wood with leaded glass in door. Went back and got the other one – perfect size for my fridge spot. All my spaghetti, small cans, etc went in there. Really dressed up the kitchen. Loved that the wood color and glass was repeated in two rooms. Think outside the box!
That sounds like an excellent way to solve the no-pantry problem! Thanks for sharing.
